Jackson State University is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor in The Department of School of Social Work. The clinical assistant professor focuses on teaching and practical application within a specific clinical field.
Teach a minimum of 12 credit hours per academic semester.
Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate students on assigned academic courses
Maintain the required in-person office hours.
Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom/virtual student-centered instructions and discussions.
Compile, administer, and grade examinations/assignments.
Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
Provide academic and professional advisement.
Participate in campus and community events.
Provide service to the School, College, University, and Community.
Willingness to serve as an advisor of the Social Work Student Association and Phi Alpha Honor Society.
Having dependable transportation is essential to perform job duties.
Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a CSWE-accredited institution.
Minimum of 3 years post-MSW full-time social work practice experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as college/university instructor in social work education. Consideration will be given to candidates who possess experience as a field director, field instructor, and field liaison.
LMSW or LCSW license preferred
Familiarity with current CSWE accreditation standards
Must have dependable transportation
