Under regular supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the installation, maintenance, and repair of utility systems. Work involves operating and performing maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment and trucks utilized in utility maintenance and repair activities; acting as the foreman in the absence of the supervisor; serving as crew chief in the water and wastewater collection departments.

Minimum Qualifications | |
Education and Experience Requirements | High school diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of water and/or wastewater treatment experience; two (2) years experience in the use of medium and heavy equipment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. |
Licenses or Certifications | Must have a valid South Carolina operator's and commercial driver’s license with tanker and airbrake endorsements, or ability to obtain one. Must possess or the ability to obtain within 6 months a minimum class “C” South Carolina LLR Water Distribution License and Class “D” Collection License. Remains subject to confined space entry requirements, and responsible for PPE as needed. Employees are required to abide by all City of Clemson, State, and Federal Safety laws. |
