Description

Michael Baker International is seeking an energetic leader to work remotely and collaborate with technical leaders to prepare winning proposals and presentations. The Federal Proposal Specialist II will partner with Capture Managers to jointly lead the development of Federal market proposals and interviews within the company’s best practices framework. 

This role is positioned within a high-performing environment that leverages centralized tools and proven best practices rooted in the Shipley methodology. As a Federal Proposal Specialist, you’ll take the lead in guiding pursuit teams through strategy development, identifying key differentiators, crafting compelling win themes, and executing pre-positioning efforts. You’ll also have the opportunity to lead initiatives that improve proposal operations and elevate team performance. You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive culture, with a strong network of regional PD resources that enables workload balancing and shared success.

The successful candidate will manage strategic Federal market proposal development efforts with responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Facilitate kick off meetings that define expectations
  • Identify tasks, assign responsibilities, and develop and manage adherence to proposal schedule
  • Facilitate strategy discussion and collaborate with team to develop strategy and win themes
  • Schedule and facilitate proposal review meetings
  • Develop page layout and manage proposal documents
  • Lead the team in the development of visual and written content for proposals; draft and/or edit proposal narrative as necessary
  • Communicate and coordinate status with the proposal team

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in the planning, preparation, and development of architectural and engineering proposals and qualifications packages for government clients
  • Familiarity with the AEC industry and Standard Form 330
  • Familiarity with Federal Markets, including Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Department of Homeland Security
  • Exceptional project management, writing, editing, and document organization skills
  • Familiarity with regional and local proposal submission requirements
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign
  • Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with GovWin and proposal database software Deltek Vision is preferred but not required

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.

Work Preference: This position is open to working remotely from any location Nationwide.
