Lead Medical Technologist Transfusion Services

Under the direction of the Laboratory Director the Chief Medical Technologist (Transfusion Services) performs all testing performed in Transfusion Services including various procedures in ABO Compatibility testing, antibody detection and identification and serology. The section chief for Transfusion Services is responsible for all department policy and procedure, training of employees, staffing and ongoing technical competency assessment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Must be able to stand for up to 3 hours a day, walk up to 2 hours a day, and sit for up to 3 hours a day. Is aware of risk exposure to communicable diseases; blood and/or body fluids.
Minimum Qualifications
BS, MT (ASCP); ASCP Certification eligible required. A minimum of 5 years directly in related experience as a Medical Technologist. Ability to manage multiple priorities detailed oriented; Strong critical thinking and analytical skills; Knowledge of regulatory agencies and their standards and processes.
Position Factors
Salary is based on Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement.
