As a remote employee, you would need to reside in the following states: California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, Florida, or Georgia

The full time - remote role of Pharmacy Technician Prior Authorization at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California will work collaboratively with the Pharmacy Specialists responsible for this function to improve medication access to patients include obtaining prior authorization and co-pay assistance for injectable medications.

Other responsibilities of the Medication Assistance Technician include:

  • Supporting prior authorization by reviewing electronic health record and comparing with payer-requirements for specific medications
  • Supporting clinics with prior authorization questions
  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses, admissions and contracting
  • Coordination and communication with patients related high cost drug questions as they arise
  • Working with patients and Patients Assistance Programs to support high cost medications therapies


Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • High school Diploma or Equivalent Required

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

  • Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing

What else are we looking for?

  • Prior Authorization experience is highly preferred

Physical demands:

  • Frequent standing; walking, bending; reaching, occasional sitting, pushing & pulling, lifting of materials up to 40 pounds for distances to 10 feet.
  • Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including: telephones, beepers, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms.
  • Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients and other customers.
  • Able to read information on medication labels.
