WHAT YOU’LL DO:

MGT is expanding its executive recruitment capabilities into the educational sector within the Human Capital Group. We are seeking a Senior Consultant, Executive Recruitment (Education and Local Government), to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and lead client-facing responsibilities in the placement of executive-level educational leaders. This role will focus on identifying, attracting, and securing top-tier talent for superintendent and other senior leadership positions within school districts, charter networks, and educational organizations.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique leadership needs and providing tailored executive recruitment solutions.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for superintendent and executive-level education positions, from sourcing to placement.
  • Utilize expertise in the education sector to assess candidate qualifications, leadership abilities, and organizational fit.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with superintendents, educational executives, and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal recruiting teams and leverage MGT’s existing infrastructure to support executive search processes.
  • Conduct market research and stay informed on trends, challenges, and opportunities within the education sector.
  • Facilitate executive search strategies, including candidate engagement, interview preparation, and negotiation processes.
  • Provide insights and thought leadership on education sector talent acquisition and workforce development.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying potential clients and growing MGT’s presence in education executive recruitment.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in executive search, talent acquisition, or recruitment, ideally within education or public sector organizations.
  • Extensive experience in executive-level leadership roles within the educational sector; experience as a Superintendent or in another cabinet level position (Assistant Superintendent or Chief Human Resources Officer) is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the challenges and leadership requirements in K-12 and higher education institutions.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage and influence senior-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to and collaborate with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to travel 10-15% travel to client sites, team meetings, or events.
