We are looking for a Threshold Inspector to join TLC Engineering Solutions (TLC). This position will support a licensed Professional Engineer's projects throughout central Florida. The Threshold Inspector is responsible for performing on-site structural inspections of threshold buildings to ensure construction is in full compliance with approved engineering documents, building codes, and safety standards, as well as the responsibilities below. 

  • Maintain detailed records of inspection activities, including daily logs and photographs.
  • Prepare list of deficiencies (non-conformance) and required corrective actions.
  • Monitor the construction of threshold buildings from the foundation through completion for structural adequacy and code compliance.
  • Prepare and submit inspection reports to the appropriate governing authority and/or engineer of record.

 

Qualifications You’ll Need:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction inspection, with specific experience on threshold buildings or large-scale commercial projects
  • Strong knowledge of structural systems, construction practices, and applicable building codes
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to work on construction sites in outdoor weather conditions, including climbing ladders and walking on uneven terrain
  • Must be able to lift and carry inspection tools and equipment (up to 25 lbs)

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Certified Threshold Inspector
  • Certified Commercial Building Inspector
  • Certified PT Inspector
  • Other ICC Certifications
