About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and well-connected Consultant with deep expertise in government contracting and federal relations, specifically within the Department of Defense (DoD) and ideally with direct experience working at or with Tinker Air Force Base.

This role is ideal for a retired or semi-retired professional, or an independent consultant with strong working relationships across Tinker AFB, capable of providing strategic guidance, contract navigation, and government liaison support to help drive organizational growth and partnership development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Advise LSI’s executive leadership on federal contracting strategy, compliance, and competitive positioning.
  • Provide intelligence on upcoming and current government contract opportunities, particularly those involving Tinker AFB and the Air Force Sustainment Center.
  • Set up, facilitate, and accompany LSI clients on visits to Tinker AFB, including high-level introductions and engagements with leadership and program officials.
  • Facilitate and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within Tinker AFB and relevant DoD agencies.
  • Leverage historical and procedural knowledge of DoD and Tinker-specific contracting processes to inform strategic decisions.
  • Assist in crafting proposals, compliance documents, and bid strategies aligned with mission needs and federal procurement standards.
  • Provide ongoing strategic advice on aligning LSI’s service offerings and capabilities with the evolving priorities of federal buyers.



Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in government contracting, acquisition, and proposal development.
  • Direct experience working with or for Tinker Air Force Base (required).
  • Established network of contacts within the DoD, Air Force, and Tinker AFB communities.
  • Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS and USAF procurement regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and provide high-level strategic insight.


Preferred Backgrounds

  • Former contracting officer, program manager, or business development lead within Tinker AFB.
  • Retired military or federal civilian employee with relevant contracting experience.
  • Previous consultant or employee with LSI on federal projects.


Compensation

  • Competitive hourly or project-based consultant rate, commensurate with experience and scope of engagement.
