About RentACoop
RentACoop is a rapidly growing small business with roots on a working farm in Germantown, Maryland. As we continue to expand, both nationally and globally, across multiple product lines and sales channels, we remain grounded in the values that shaped our founding: innovation, integrity, and a deep respect for animals and their caregivers.

Our mission is to design and manufacture practical, high-quality solutions that simplify and enhance the experience of raising chickens, birds, and small animals. From hands-on product development to daily operations, our team is united by a shared passion for creating tools that are both functional and accessible.

We are proud to lead with purpose across our expanding family of brands:

  • RAC Paws by RentACoop – focused on enriching the lives of small animals and their caregivers

  • Fluffy Layers by RentACoop – a lifestyle brand for animal lovers, offering thoughtfully designed gear from coop to kitchen

Our growth is driven not just by what we build—but by why we build it. We believe that raising animals, especially chickens, can be a transformative experience for individuals, families, and communities. That belief fuels our long-standing commitment to giving back. To date, we’ve contributed more than $200,000 in products and financial support to public schools, 4-H clubs, camps, Habitat for Humanity, The Salvation Army, and other community organizations across the United States.

As we scale our operations and deepen our impact, we’re seeking mission-aligned team members who are excited to grow with us, while helping us stay true to the core values that have made RentACoop a leader in animal care innovation.

We are seeking a highly capable, self-directed Executive Assistant for a part-time remote role. This individual must thrive in fast-paced environments, have advanced Excel skills, and be comfortable troubleshooting a range of IT issues. The ideal candidate is someone who needs minimal oversight, takes initiative, and consistently delivers high-quality, organized work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, day-to-day support for executive leadership across administrative, scheduling, and workflow-related tasks
  • Handle technical hiccups across platforms (email, file management, integrations, shared drives, etc.)—and know when to escalate
  • Assist with operational and administrative tasks with minimal hand-holding
  • Triage and follow up on incoming requests, tasks, and projects
  • Communicate with clarity and professionalism on behalf of senior leadership
  • Organize digital files, documentation, and process flows with clarity and consistency

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in Excel—including the ability to create, maintain, and improve workbooks using advanced formulas (e.g., XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH), pivot tables, filters, and multi-tab structures to support reporting and decision-making; also able to identify and resolve spreadsheet errors while managing file organization, version control, and cross-team accessibility
  • Comfortable navigating
general to moderate IT troubleshooting—across cloud-based platforms, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.
  • Exceptionally
    organized and self-motivated
  • Can anticipate needs, spot inefficiencies, and offer solutions before being asked
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting C-level executives or operations teams preferred
  • Bonus if you’re familiar with tools like Cin7, SPS, SPS TOE, Amazon Seller, e-commerce platforms, Shopify, or logistics platforms

This Role Might Be for You If...

  • You consider Excel your second language and enjoy building smarter, cleaner spreadsheets that others can’t break
  • You prefer not to be micromanaged and enjoy the autonomy of owning your work
  • You’re the person friends call when their email stops syncing or a shared doc gets corrupted
  • You love staying ahead of deadlines and solving small problems before they become big ones

Part-Time Benefits Include:

  • Up to 80 hours of paid time off annually
  • Product discounts
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Growth opportunities within a mission-driven company
  • Additional benefits may apply based on role, schedule, and tenure

Employment may be contingent upon RentACoop LLC’s receipt of a job-related drug test, physical exam, motor vehicle report, background check, reference check, and/or E-Verify, as permitted by law.
