Role Overview

We’re hiring our first Federal Sales Representative to build and execute Govly’s direct sales motion to the federal government. This is a high-impact, full-cycle role selling Govly for Government into defense agencies. You’ll be responsible for prospecting, qualifying, running demos, managing pilots, closing deals, and expanding agency relationships.

You’ll be supported by a robust reseller and partner ecosystem but will lead the charge on direct federal selling. This role will regularly collaborate with Govly’s executive team and advisors and is a unique opportunity to shape the public sector go-to-market strategy from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive federal sales strategy, including account planning, channel strategy, opportunity identification, and agency engagement.
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close, including post-sale expansion
  • Sell directly to federal procurement, acquisition, and program management teams
  • Develop pipeline through a combination of personal network, outbound outreach, and partner referrals
  • Work closely with CEO, COO, and advisors to refine messaging and market positioning
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships within contracting offices, small business programs, and procurement shops
  • Represent Govly at industry events, conferences, and trade shows
  • Collaborate with Govly’s partner/reseller ecosystem to identify deal support and resale strategies
  • Maintain clean Salesforce hygiene and report regularly on KPIs, including forecasted revenue, stage progression, and conversion metrics
  • Contribute to the definition of performance metrics (e.g., qualified meetings, net new opportunities, strategic agency outreach, agency touchpoints logged, renewals, upsells) to ensure clarity and alignment

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience selling SaaS or technology solutions into the federal government
  • Deep understanding of the federal procurement lifecycle and agency contracting workflows
  • Proven ability to independently prospect, close, and grow federal accounts
  • Existing relationships within defense or civilian agency procurement shops
  • Familiarity with federal contract vehicles including GWACs, IDIQs, OTAs, and GSA Schedules
  • Experience selling through resellers, distributors, or VARs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical value to both technical and business stakeholders
  • Located in the Washington, DC Metro Area (required)

Compensation and Performance

  • Competitive base + variable commission + equity package
  • Aggressive commission structure
  • Sales cycle expected to range from 3 to 9 months, with flexibility in ramp period and quota expectations accordingly
  • First 2 quarters of variable comp will be tied to the business objectives below + commission on closed business
