Role Overview: The Project Manager will focus on two key areas: Agile Project Management (40%) and Quality Controls (30%), with an emphasis on Supervisory and Mentoring (30%) to support and grow teams. You’ll be responsible for driving results through clear communication, effective planning, and managing change, all while fostering collaboration and ensuring high standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Controls (30%):
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure project success.
- Facilitation: Lead meetings, manage status reporting, and coordinate milestone reviews.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with clients and data leadership to move innovative and transformation efforts forward.
- Scheduling & Reporting: Analyze project hours, monitor burns, and maintain scheduling.
- Creative Risk Mitigation: Facilitate the lifecycle of risk mitigation and triage, making necessary adjustments to the project plan.
Agile Project Management (40%):
- Agile Ceremonies: Manage and lead key Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily scrums, retrospectives, reviews, and demos.
- Stakeholder Communication: Ensure clear project objectives and value propositions with both the team and clients.
- Agile Tool Management: Oversee the management of Agile tools (e.g., JIRA) to track tasks, issues, and risks.
- Facilitation & Action Tracking: Lead meetings efficiently, rapidly translate discussions into action items, and assign owners and dates for completion.
- Documentation Management: Maintain project documents in Google Workspace or O365/SharePoint.
Supervisory & Mentoring (30%):
- Staff Management: Balance coordination of technical staff while enabling senior management and executives.
- Conflict Resolution: Resolve interpersonal and project conflicts to maintain team harmony and productivity.
- Team Engagement: Invest in staff development, support individual goals aligned with motivators, and encourage active team engagement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Agile Project Management, specifically as a Scrum Master in software development.
- 2 years of experience in non-Scrum Project Management.
- Technical proficiency with JIRA, Google Workspace, or MS Office 365.
- Preferred: PMP/PMI-ACP certification (If not certified, sponsorship for the first year will be provided).
- Experience managing a distributed team (10+ members), preferably in large government or enterprise projects.
Job Goal and Milestones:
- First 30 Days: Get familiar with the existing contract, establish Agile and Quality Controls, and meet key project players and stakeholders.
- First 60 Days: Implement Quality Controls, manage the overall communication plan, and lead the Agile lifecycle (sprint planning, scrums, QA, retrospectives).
- First 90 Days: Conduct quarterly reviews, assist in backlog maintenance, and support solutions architects and software engineers.
