DBI’s construction experts provide independent recommendations and analysis to clients in the insurance and legal industry. In a complex industry, the company’s mission is to bring clarity to every client served by DBI through hard evidence, expertise, and accuracy.
What is the role?
The Senior Project Manager plans, directs and provides oversight of construction consulting projects. This role is responsible to ensure that DBI goals and objectives are accomplished within schedule and budget parameters. The position requires considerable judgment and is expected to function effectively with minimal direct supervision.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leader
Lead all aspects of revenue generation and project execution for Tampa under the "DBI way".
Obtain new clients through strategic marketing efforts in partnership with local Business Development team.
Organize and manage a project team, team workload, and project schedules.
Build effective relationships to drive repeat clients and inspire team member retention.
Expert
Negotiate and finalize the scope and terms of each project.
Resolve complex technical issues as they arise. Identify risk exposures and their order of magnitude.
Develop project estimates, bids, and proposals on a timely and efficient basis.
Ensure the flow of project information is maintained and documented.
Perform all other duties as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Project Management or related field preferred.
Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in project management within construction and/or property insurance related fields.
Enjoys travelling and building comradery with a response team. Willingness to travel +/- 30% of the workweek, including 2-3 team leader events per year.
Thrives working in a fast-paced environment, both in the office and on project sites, including rooftops.
Experience working with Xactimate, Bluebeam Revu, and Primavera or MS Projects.
Possess a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
We get to work outside! Our business requires work to be performed at the site of the property damage, including locations where disasters or catastrophes have previously occurred.
This team member may be required to work in elevated areas such as roofs or scaffolding, requiring physical agility, and balance. During busy periods, this may require evening, overnight, and/or weekend travel and work.
Our teams are packed with safety gear and PPE as they may be subject to, but not limited to: outdoor extreme heat, cold, and precipitation; indoor noise, vibrations, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
This team member may be required to work in close quarters, crawl spaces, small enclosed rooms, narrow aisles, passageways, or other enclosed areas, requiring physical agility and resistance to claustrophobia.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
The team member may be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, or feel, especially in the course of investigating and assessing property damage; these requirements may include the need to lift weights of up to 50 pounds, including a ladder.
The work requires close visual acuity, with or without correction, to prepare reports containing words, symbols, and numerical figures; the incumbent is required to view a computer terminal, use a keyboard, read printed documents, make detailed visual inspections, perceive color, perceive depth, and have a sufficient field of vision to carry out all inspection and related duties.
