Senior Legal Assistant (Litigation)

About the Role

The Senior Legal Assistant, Litigation provides high-level administrative support to attorneys and legal professionals within the Litigation Department. This role is ideal for an experienced legal support professional who thrives in a dynamic, detail-oriented environment and is passionate about delivering operational excellence across legal processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to a team of five attorneys and three paralegals
  • Manage complex calendars, schedule meetings, book travel, and handle expense reporting
  • Coordinate and communicate with outside counsel
  • Assist with mail processing, service of process, and document management
  • Utilize litigation-related systems, including Legal Tracker
  • Support e-billing operations: review law firm invoices, monitor budgets, and generate reports
  • Maintain electronic records and files for legal documents
  • Organize legal trainings and department meetings
  • Draft and respond to routine correspondence
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in legal or compliance roles
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative or department coordination role
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored visa or residency support
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize information from multiple sources
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, legal studies, or legal secretary certification
  • 5 years of administrative/legal support experience, including at least 2 years in a legal department, law firm, or government agency
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and board procedures
  • Previous experience in pharmacy benefit management, managed care, or health care industry

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Occasional overtime may be required
  • Primarily seated role with some walking, standing, reaching, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
  • Vision requirements include close and distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
