Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic State Expansion Project Manager to lead and coordinate our efforts to expand into new markets across the U.S. This critical role requires deep knowledge of the non-standard auto insurance space and proven experience in state-by-state insurance expansion.  You will collaborate cross-functionally with leaders across Product, Compliance, Operations, Legal, Marketing, IT, and Executive teams to ensure successful and timely market entries.

This individual must be highly organized, a strong communicator, and able to drive alignment across senior leadership. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can take ownership of complex, high-stakes initiatives.

  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management for state expansion initiatives in the non-standard auto insurance space. 
  • Collaborate  with product, compliance, actuarial, underwriting, legal, and marketing  departments to develop and launch state-specific products.
  • Ensure all state-specific regulatory requirements are met in coordination with  legal and compliance teams.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between internal teams and executive leadership to  align on goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and status reports; proactively identify risks and roadblocks.
  • Lead  and facilitate high-impact meetings with senior stakeholders, ensuring clear decision-making and accountability.
  • Track project metrics and performance indicators to evaluate success and  optimize future expansions.
  • Monitor and incorporate competitive intelligence and market dynamics into expansion strategy.
Requirements

  

Requirements: 

  • 5+  years of experience in the non-standard auto insurance industry.
  • Direct  experience managing state-by-state insurance expansion efforts, including regulatory filings and product adaptation.
  • Strong understanding of non-standard auto products, underwriting, pricing, and consumer dynamics.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects with measurable results.
  • Comfortable presenting to and directing high-level company leaders and executives.
  • Expert meeting facilitator and communicator, able to drive clarity and consensus.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple timelines and competing priorities.

  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Insurance state expansion experience.
  • Experience  working with Department of Insurance (DOI) regulatory bodies.
  • Familiarity  with insurance technology platforms and product launch cycles.
  • Proficient  email communication skills.
  • Skilled in presenting to large senior level groups.

Salary Description
$90,000-$100,000 Annually plus up to 15% bonus
