Job Description:

This job is responsible for executing on the strategic priorities of Bank of America’s Global Public Policy team. Key responsibilities include developing strategy and communicating Bank of America's position on key state and local legislative, regulatory and human resource issues and advocating those positions to government officials. Job expectations include maintaining strong relationships with public officials, trade associations and other industry-based organizations, and coordinating with key internal stakeholders on important policy issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains relationships with state and local policymakers and public officials
  • Advocates on legislative and regulatory policies important to Bank of America
  • Communicates Bank of America's responsible growth strategy and strategic initiatives to policymakers
  • Engages Bank of America senior leaders with state legislators, executive officers (governors, mayors, attorneys general) and other policymakers
  • Serves as resource for internal and external stakeholders on the legislative and regulatory environment and status of key policy issues, and coordinates with Bank of America positions to key trade associations and industry coalitions
  • Develops and builds consensus Bank of America policy positions on legislative and regulatory issues, working with internal stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Strong relationships with public officials in region
  • Extensive public speaking proficiency
  • Experience with coalition building and stakeholder engagement
  • Consultant management experience

  • Strategic-thinking and decision-making skills
  • Proven self-starter
  • Education requirements: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Desired Qualifications:

  • Direct experience in public policy and/or lobbying

Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$138,600.00 - $192,500.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
