Job Summary:
A national healthcare group is seeking a Vice President of Government Affairs to lead legislative and regulatory strategy across multiple states. This senior executive will manage relationships with policymakers, track key legislative developments, and lead advocacy efforts related to reimbursement, regulation, and healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the company’s primary representative to federal and state legislators, regulatory bodies, and policy stakeholders.
Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory changes impacting skilled nursing, behavioral health, and ancillary services.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with elected officials, trade associations, and other policy influencers.
Lead advocacy efforts and develop strategies aligned with the company’s business and regulatory priorities.
Partner with executive leadership to shape policy positions and guide external messaging.
Collaborate with internal teams to anticipate and respond to reimbursement and compliance shifts.
Prepare policy updates, briefings, and strategic reports for senior leadership.
Requirements:
Proven experience leading government affairs, public policy, or advocacy efforts at the state and federal level.
Demonstrated success in managing legislative relationships and influencing policy outcomes.
Strong understanding of the legislative process and regulatory environments.
Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
Excellent communication, relationship management, and strategic planning skills.
Must be willing to work out of the New York office at least part-time.
