Participates in the preventive maintenance and repair activities of mechanical, electrical and communication equipment at assigned facilities.
Maintains and repairs all electrical systems and components; troubleshoots electrical problems; provides assistance to licensed electricians and contractors with high voltage electrical work; assists in installing new equipment, removing small motors for repair and re-installing the same.
Inspects, maintains and repairs pumps, chemical feeders, chlorinators, transmission fans, gear boxes, and other mechanical equipment; rebuilds and replaces parts; performs preventive maintenance.
Inspects and repairs air release valves, tanks and booster stations, and transmission line valves; provides all electrical services for the same.
Observes and monitors flow meters, amp meters, and pressure gauges to determine compliance with operating standards.
Completes related maintenance tasks; fuels and lubricate systems; repairs lighting systems; conducts security inspections.
Manages equipment, supply and material inventory of items needed to perform daily tasks; receives deliveries and ensures completeness of orders; monitors supply levels and places orders as needed.
Completes paperwork for work orders, maintenance records, and requests for supplies and equipment.
Meets with contractors to provide information and direction regarding various projects.
Remains on-call to perform emergency tasks as needed.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
This classification is designated as a safety sensitive position which is subject to random drug and alcohol testing and any other drug testing methods as stated in policies adopted by Forsyth County concerning drug and alcohol.
Performs other related duties as required.
