Job Summary
The Sr. HR Systems Specialist is responsible for maintaining and maximizing the effective use of CHOC’s HCM systems as well as creating meaningful HR metrics and reporting that provide insights into strategic issues related to workforce planning and management. Assists users across the organization with common system-related issues and questions. Produces custom reports, metrics, and dashboards. Evaluates system functionality, identifies gaps, and makes recommendations for enhanced solutions. Assists with system upgrades and testing. Trains users to the use of the HCM system and related HR applications. Monitors and ensures data integrity using audit tools and alerts.Pay Range
Minimum $35.82 Midpoint $47.46 Maximum $59.10Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Position Details
This is a full-time, temporary position that is benefits-eligible.
The role is expected to continue through December 2026, with the possibility of ending earlier based on business needs.
Experience
• Required: Minimum three (3) years of experience in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
• Preferred: Three or more years’ supporting Workday HCM system.
Education
• Required: Bachelor’s degree; equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of education.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, IT, IS or other analytical/technical field.
Training
• Required: Knowledge of common HR policies and procedures.
• Preferred: Workday core HCM, report writer, and/or calculated fields training; Workday Pro certification(s) highly preferred.
Specialized Skills
• Required: Experience developing and generating reports, analytics, and dashboards. Ability to develop and frame analytical findings in a clear and meaningful way. Strong attention to detail with good organization skills. Strong listening and communications skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work with various levels of management and maintain a critical level of confidentiality. Ability to prioritize and meet appropriate deadlines in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Preferred: Understanding of object-oriented programming and systems; Familiarity with database concepts such as primary/foreign keys and metadata; Understanding of the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) data lifecycle; Ability to create custom reports, dashboards, datasets, tools and processes needed to achieve business objectives.
Licensure
• Required: None required.
• Preferred: PHR, SPHR, PHRca, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
